Based on the recommendations of the SETQAA evaluators, the ETQA Committee of the Services SETA concluded on the 27 May 2003 (Decision No: 0490) that The SMART Group should be awarded Institutional Accreditation until March 2005 for the provision of education and training. On 19 August 2005 Re-Accreditation was validated until 31 March 2010 as a Provider for the delivery of the following learning programmes:

Institutional Accreditation is the status attained after the SETQAA evaluation has found that a Provider of education and training has the potential and capability to deliver quality education and training in line with the minimum criteria specified by SAQA.
